Hi Antique Lovers,

I want to share some tips on cleaning your favorite antique furniture without damaging them.
To remove wax, grime and dust, we should try to use toothbrush or paintbrush. If you have stubborn spots, use the steel wool pad very lightly.
To remove sticky residues, we should use chewing gum or tape with lemon juice. The acidity from the lemon will break down the adhesives
To clean the brass portion of furniture, you can mix a paste from flour, salt and vinegar. Polish with a soft cloth, rinse and shine with a second cloth.

For antique furniture, I like those from Victorian Era the most. No particular style dominated the creation of Victorian furniture. Rather, the designers drew inspiration from Gothic, Tudor, Elizabethan, English Rococo, Neoclassical and other time periods. They are truly gorgeous.

As a guy, the antique furniture I really like is the classic vintage collection from the early 1900s. I prefer them made of full Aniline luxury Leather. It is the most attractive and natural leathers which are prized for their soft natural feel. These are leathers which have been aniline dyed in a vat process with no color coating added to the surface. One piece of classic vintage furniture made of Aniline luxury Leather can actually make your home a lot nicer.

Hi Teresa,

In my opinion, Victorian oil lamps are the best among the creation of Victorian furniture. Victorian lighting ranged from ornate candelabras to oil lamps to early electric lamps. They were all truly elegant. I know that most girls like its floral pattern particularly.

I am particularly interested in antique chairs. Recently, I started to pay attention to stools. They have a modern classic feel compared to the antique furniture. My first selection is Aalto’s number 60 stacking stools. Not only are they beautiful, they are also practical and functional. These stools feature round laminated seats, and three bentwood, laminated L-shaped legs. It was first manufactured in 1932, and is still in production today.
